Magnus Gunnarsson has been connected with aviation since 1977. He started as the MD of Eagle Air, an Icelandic charter company, which specialised in charters and ACMI leases world wide. Magnus left Eagle Air in 1981. Magnus was involved in various diffrent activities in Iceland from 1981 to 1993. He however never lost contact with aviation and in 1993 Magnus founded Capital ehf which among other things, was very active in seeking ACMI activities for Icelandic companies like Air Atlanta, Islandsflug and Loftleiðir.

In 1997 the aviation activities in Capital were so extensive that Magnus founded Icelandic Aircraft Managment (Íslensk Flugmiðlun) to focus on the aviation activities. In 2001 Magnus was joined by Magnus Fridjónsson former Dir of Finance in Air Atlanta. The company grew very quickly and established offices in Ireland and in UAE.

In the beginning of 2014 it was agreed that Magnus Fridjónsson purchased IAM activities outside Iceland and Magnus Gunnarsson kept Islensk Flugmidlun (in Iceland) which now has been named Ice Air Trading to focus mostly on aircraft trading.
